Blooming in June... Hello 30! Self-Care Shawty!

Hello babes!

I know it has been a very long time since I’ve blogged on my site. Shame on me! Please forgive me for this untimely hiatus. Your girl has been going through a lot of unforeseen events over the last 7 months. This also includes the current pandemic, fighting for justice and equal rights. By the way, have they arrested the cops that killed Breonna Taylor?

With all that has been going on, it has been extremely hard trying to dive into my creative side. So please, bare with me.

On June 25th, ya girl hit the BIG 30! I am still shook that I am 30. It really came fast, LOL!

Growing up, I set goals and timelines for my life with plans to knock out each goal on my list. Year after year, I made plans for high school and college. I even created a bucket list for my 20’s. However, I didn’t plan for 30. Why did I not plan for 30??? I was so scared to turn 30 because I felt like I still had so much to do. I let life get in my way, and I was unable to accomplish so many other things while being in my 20’s. Am I the only one who feels this way? Please drop a comment and let me know.

On top of feeling behind on my life plans, I lost my Grandmother to ovarian cancer. See, I told you I've been going through it these last 7 months. The death of my grandmother was hard on my entire family. Especially since we did not see this coming. I’ll save details about this for another blog post.

Since then, I’m starting to realize that life can throw many things my way, and ultimately, I have the control of the outcome. Realizing I can only control what is controllable can bring easiness back into my life. I’m diving more into myself by Loving myself, Healing myself, and also Cleansing myself. I call this self-care at its finest. In doing this, I pray that I feel the urge to create and be lively again. We shall see…..
